Awesome that helps. So the area for a trapezoid uses the equation: [A = \frac{ a+b }{ 2 }h\] a and b are the bases, in this case 8 and 11. The order doesn't matter, I'll just say a=8 and b=11. the height is 4. (this may seem kind of backwards, but if you imagine rotating the trapezoid it makes sense). So plug in your numbers to get your answer: [(8+11)/2]4 = 38 does that make sense?
