A yogurt shop sells yogurt in small, medium, and large cups. There are 8 different flavors and 4 different toppings from which to choose. How many different yogurt selections are possible?

OpenStudy (ranga):

First, there are 8 different flavors and there are 3 different size cups. How many different selections are possible?

OpenStudy (ranga):

You can order Flavor 1 Small cup, Flavor 1 Medium cup, Flavor 1 Large cup. Similarly, Flavor 2 Small cup, Flavor 2 Medium cup, Flavor 2 Large cup. Like that 8 times. How many different selections are possible?

i do not get this

OpenStudy (ranga):

Each flavor can be ordered in 3 different cup sizes. There are 8 different flavors. Therefore, 8 x 3 = 24 different selections are possible. Now each of the above can have 4 different toppings. How many selections are possible? (use the same logic as in the third line above).
