How many significant figures should her answer have (3.0)(2.0)

When you find the number of significant figures something has (Sig Figs), we take the same number of decimal places in our answer as we have available. For example: 2.0 X 4.0 = 8.0, while 2 X 4 is just 8. The first example has 2 sig figs in each term, while the second only has one sig fig. Our answers are consistent to this. If they are different numbers of sig figs like 2.0 X 4, then we just use the lowest number of sig figs, which in this case is 1, so our answer is for 2.0 X 4 is just 8.
