Uh... all of those sound like it, except the unions, which... Unions would actually have a greater influence if there were only 1 company. Not sure about campaign contribution laws, but I don't think holding companies HAVE to mean better contribution Vertical integration is when a company buy up all parts of the production process, best example today being apple, but holdings were usually associated with horizontal integration... holding companies doesn't have anything to do with sheltering income taxes I will probably have to go with the reducing Union power part, it makes the most sense.
