-{[10/5(-2)+(-8x3-2)]/(-5)} Please help me / is divide . The answer sheet wrote -6 but my answer is -5.4

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

This question is flawed

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

Both answers are correct

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

This case of a/b(c) is controversal

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

Some will interpret it as (a/b)(c) while some as a/[b(c)]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but shouldnt the a/[b(c)] . beacuse bracket 1st

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

But the bracket ain't on a/(bc)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10/5(-2)

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

I know, you don't have to repeat it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh , i understand what u meant . but normally i tot 5(-2) should be 1st because there is bracket on -2 .

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

The bracket on "1+(3)*5" doesn't make the "3" be calculated first does it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

true....

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

The question is flawed, a/b(c) is a long debated topic

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

Controversal

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

See you later! :)
