what is the change in the value of 'g' due to the earth's rotation?
DO you understand the meaning of this question?!
It was in an astro oympiad ....but the Newton's law of gravitation doesn't mention anything about rotation.
yea i know, but do you know or have any idea why g would change due to earth's rotation in the first place?!
No ...that's why I need help.
Well.. due to earth's spin, you sort of get an outward push right? (imagine ur umbrella with water drops, when you sping, the drops are thrown away ? ) usually while doing simple calculation we neglect that.. but now if you consider the rotational effect.. what do you think will happen to g value?! increase decrease or remain same?
Decreases?
ya g will decrease
correct.. ! do you wanna evaluate how much it decreases to? "plz say no :D"
But how will i find out by how much it decreases ?
That's exactly what I want to know .
need to talk over skype to clear the fact
What's your ID ?
