Can someone say how you get asked to become a mod.

Well if you're a big help upon the community i'm sure a current moderator can recommend you as one and eventually you will get picked. That's just my guess though.

It's a lot more of a process than that. But keep in mind, if you go to moderators asking them to recommend you, then you most like will not be recommended. You have to have a great deal of care and dedication put into  OpenStudy in order to have the chance. Meaning:

Guide new and current users in the correct path
Know the rules
Encourage users to do their best
Follow all the rules

There's much more to this than it may seems. In fact, if you ever were to be chosen to become one, there's a lot to being one. Always having your notification box filled with reports. Not to mention the many messages you'd get daily. It's a lot of work for our moderators. 

If you would like to, you can always fill out an application to become an OpenStudy Ambassador. New ones are chosen every few months. Let me know if you'd like the application, as well as some information on  how us Ambassadors do on here.
