Solve the quadratic equation: 10x^2 - 27x + 18 = 0. (1) There are many methods. The Transforming Method (Google Search) is may be the fastest and simplest. 3 steps: Step 1. Transform the equation (1) into the simplified equation: x^2 - 27x + 180 = 0 (2), with a = 1 and a*c = 180. Step 2. Solve (2) by the Diagonal Sum Method. Both real roots are positive.Compose factor pairs of a*c = 180. Proceeding:.......(6, 30)(9, 20)(12, 15). This last sum is 12 + 15 = 27 = -b. The 2 real roots of (2) are: y1 = 12,and y2 = 15. Step 3. Back to the original equation (1), the 2 real roots are: x1 = y1/a = y1/10 = 12/10 = 6/5, and x2 = y2/a = 15/10 = 3/2. Answers: 6/5 and 3/2
