Given: x + y = 10. If x = -21, what is y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = 31 Since x = -21 and the answer is 10 we need to find a number that's positive. if y = 21 then it would give us 0, so add ten to 21 and you get 31. -21 + 31 = 10
