Ok we divide both sides of the equation like this :
3x²/3=48/3 => x²=16
Then we square root :
√x²=√16
We have two possibilities now :
If x is positive √x²=x
So x=4
If x is negative √x²=-x
So x=-4
So the solution set is {4,-4}
