oh sorry :(... umm didn't u get a pic.. my sister is preg too.. and she showed my mom her baby (not born yet) ....OHH!!!! I think she had a ultrasound... im sorry I don't know :(

a sonogram is an ultrasound exam, yes. It works by bouncing very high frequency sound waves off the structures in the abdomen. The sound waves are reflected whenever they encounter a difference in density, and by measuring the time it takes for the pulse to return to the transducer (the device applied to the skin that both emits and receives the sound energy) the device can determine approximately how deep that structure is. With enough computing power, an image can be constructed that looks like something you might recognize.
