Find the volume of a 4-dimensional sphere with radius 4.

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

What do you mean by volume? Note that the term surface area is used for 3-dimensional objects.

OpenStudy (btaylor):

I just have a problem that asks for the volume of a 4-dimensional sphere.

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

Okay, I'll assume that it's asking for the 4-D measurement of the 4-D object

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

Is this for calculus?

OpenStudy (btaylor):

no, it was from a math contest. I know the answer but I want to figure out how you get it.

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

I would take the equation of the sphere f(x,y,z) = x^2 + y^2 + z^2 And triple integrate it.

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N-sphere

OpenStudy (btaylor):

ok, I think I understand it now. Thanks!

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):
