Hello @Cpt.Shananigans - Sorry, you can not delete your OpenStudy Account. Let us know the reason why do you want to delete your account? We will try to sort it out if any possible solution is available there.

Mathslover is right - you cannot delete your account. The reason being we would then have to delete all the content you've posted (all your questions, all your responses - which is exactly what some people hoping their teachers don't find their OpenStudy accounts hope for) and all that you have contributed to the site would be lost.

Mathslover is also right in that if at all possible, we'll work with you to figure out what problem is driving you away from OpenStudy, and will do everything within our power to help you solve it.

"Could be" and "should be" are different issues.

I don't know enough about how OpenStudy is coded to speak to whether this is a technically possible feature.

But I don't think it should be possible. That way people could cheat on OpenStudy, delete their accounts, and all trace of their activity would become invisible to their parents/teachers. It would also deprive OpenStudy of all the content they uploaded - all the people they helped before deleting their account would lose their answers too.

The worst thing that we have currently for a user is : Permanent Suspension and IP Ban.

Deleting a account can not be implemented on this site as a feature - the explanation has already been given by @blues very well.

OpenStudy is an educational site and it believes in the student's welfare. There will always be a reason behind : why you want to delete your account ? You can tell us your problem and we will try to sort it out - Or Just PM any of the ambassadors /mods or contact :

abuse@openstudy.com - if you think, you were abused/offended or anything injustice happened to you

contact@openstudy.com - you need help in something which is related to the common features of OpenStudy or anything basics.

I too want to delete my old account... i forgot password and user name too.... no backup for gmail too....
