OpenStudy (a1234):

I need to write a story about safety online that is directed towards elementary school students. I have no idea how to write a story about this topic. Any ideas?

OpenStudy (adrynicoleb):

Hmm. Here are a few ideas. These could work for any age though. - Don't give out personal information (Full name, address, school) - People are not who they seem to be - Don't run with scissors ;P - Even if you delete something, it is still there and someone can find it. This can effect your future greatly. - Don't believe everything that people tell you - Try to be kind to others. Some people get mad very easily. This is all I can come up with for now. I can try to think of some more later if you need anymore help. :)

OpenStudy (a1234):

Thanks for the ideas; they help! Even though I have these ideas, I'm finding it hard to put it all together into a story. Do you have any ideas or themes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-Be careful of what you post, people can easily screen shot it and use it against you. Like Amanda todd for an example... -If someone keeps asking you personal questions and they don't stop after you tell them to, block the person. -Since you aren't in person, people can read the things you post in a different way. Think of it like this; when you're with friends, you guys playfully call each other things and make fun of each other jokingly. Well, if you were to text them calling them a *insert something that you would call them that most people would take offense* your friend could take it seriously and decide not to talk to you again since they don't know if you're joking or not. -Just because you are online, doesn't mean you are invisible. Don't say things that you wouldn't say to someone in person -Use the internet wisely, some websites can be harmful to your computer. Plus, the government and your parents have access to what you're researching -Don't post things 24/7. Try to stay away from posting what you are doing every second of the day. Someone can easily stalk you this way be knowing your schedule -Some websites will give away your info for a bit of money, so be careful of which websites you subscribe to
