Ziam is considering an offer to perform his own songs on a cd to be titled "waiting there". In the past, he has written, but not performed, his music. If Ziams royalty is 0.12 of the suggested retail price of $15.00, but .25 of the retail price is deducted for packaging before Ziams royalty check is calculated, how much will he receive for sale of the CD?

I'm assuming that .12 and .25 mean 12% and 25%. Let's first find out how much 25% of $15 is. $3.75 (25% of $15) is taken off for packaging. This leaves us with $11.25. Ziam's royalty is 12% of this. Let's find 12% of $11.25. 12% of $11.25 is $1.35. Ziam makes $1.35 for every CD sold.
