add 4/3 everywhere
-2+4/3<2x-4/3+4/3<4/3
and now divide by 2 each term that's it
\[-2 < 2x -4/3 < 0\]
-2 < 2x - 4/3 < 0 -- add 4/3 to each side -2 + 4/3 < 2x - 4/3 + 4/3 < 0 + 4/3 -6/3 + 4/3 < 2x < 4/3 -2/3 < 2x < 4/3 -- divide by 2 (-2/3)/2 < 2x/2 < (4/3)/2 -2/3 * 1/2 < x < 4/3 * 1/2 -1/3 < x < 2/3
