The equation of line EF is y = 1 over 2x + 6. Write an equation of a line parallel to line EF in slope-intercept form that contains point (0, −2).

OpenStudy (cybershadow):

slope of the line EF having equation y = 1 is. m = 0. Now we gotta find the equation of a line parallel to EF as we know , for parallel lines slopes are equal so slope of the a line parallel to EF will also be 0 as we know , slope intercept form of line is y = mx +c here m is 0 therefore y = c also this line passes through (0,-2) therefore c = -2 that makes our equation y = -2
