I need help with English essay ..... this is the essay
Growing flowers is one of my happiest childhood memories. Gardening offers more than a way for kids to have fun. There are many things to gain from working with plants outside. It is unfortunate that many people feel too busy to garden. More people should take a chance with gardening to see what they can create. I am glad I learned to grow plants when I was a kid. have to revise it ... wih a hook and supporting details and stuff????????? help please!!!!!

You have some good ideas. They need to be fleshed out with more detail.

Use what you have as an outline.

Your hook is the memory as a kid. Start with a memory of a specific event, perhaps. Maybe even recreate the dialouge.

"Gramma, look at the sunflowers a grew!" and finish telling about that memory for example.
Or elaborate on what it was about gardening that appealed to you as a little kid. That personal connection to your topic can make a great hook.

Then go to your next idea. Gardening is more than fun. What else does it offer? Learning about plants, Learning to work, Learning to have patience and a bit of faith that something will grow etc.

Then continue to fill in and support the rest of your statements.
