Claudia is on a motorcycle trip. She checked the odometer at the beginning of the trip, and it showed 16,789 miles. After 15 days it showed 22,189 miles. If Claudia rode the same number of miles each day, how many miles did she ride in a day?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the average number of miles she rides each day is equal to the total number of miles ridden divided by the number of days she rode. start by finding the difference in mileage and then divide by the total number of days. feel free to let me know if you are still confused!

OpenStudy (richyw):

\[\frac{22189-16789}{15}=360 \text{ miles/day}\]
