explain how the DNA content maintained during the process of reproduction.

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

lets consider humans....normally diploid 2n....gametes formed....male and female both r haploid n....then these gametes fuse to form a zygote 2n...thus dna content maintained..:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you explain this in simple language..i don't knw what is diploid nd haploid

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

see humans have 46 chromosomes...ie 23 pair....so 1 extra copy of each chromosome....so diploid ie 2n...and haploid is just 23 chromosomes..no copy of it available...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok..thank you :)
