Or to find X you can move -3 to RHS of = sign. So it becomes positive 3 Then work it out like normal without brackets.

x+7=3 x=3-7 x=-4

-3(x+7)= 3x + -21=-21 -21 3x=-21(Divide by 3) 3x will be cancel x=-7
