OpenStudy (phi):

in your equation \[ y = - \frac{1}{3}x + 5 \] what is the y-intercept ?

OpenStudy (phi):

most people learn that when the equation looks like y = mx + b m is the slope and b is the y-intercept or, you can do this: when x=0 what is y? y = -⅓ * 0 + 5 = 0+5= 5 the correct graph will go through the point (0,5) Do you see any choices that go through (0,5)?
