What is the rate of change between the interval of x = 0 and x = pi over 2 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got pi but that is not one of the answer choices.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5-3=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know. The final equation I got was 2 pi over 2 which could be simplified as pi.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think you you have to find (change in y)/(change in x)=2/(pi/2)=4/pi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im confused, how did you turn 2 over pi over 2into 4 over pi?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[rate~ of~ change=\frac{ change~ of~ y }{ change ~of~x }=\frac{ 5-3 }{ \frac{ \pi }{ 2 }- 0 }=\frac{ 2 }{ \frac{ \pi }{ 2 } }=2*\frac{ 2 }{ \pi }=\frac{ 4 }{ \pi }\]

Oh. I see my mistake. I was not flipping pi over 2 when multiplying. Thank you. You have been much help today.
