Because a dependent event is controlled by the thing that you're changing. Thereore rolling two number cubes is an independent event that would effect your dependent event. Tossing the same coin twice is also independent. If the answer had stated "tossing a coin twice and landing on heads both times" then it would be a dependent event. And spinning a spinner and tossing a number cube is also independent. It's just simple elimination of an algebraic equation
