OpenStudy (anonymous):

The pattern on the wings of a certain kind of butterfly depends on five different gene pairs. what type of inheritance does this demonstrate? Incomplete Dominance? Polygenic genes? co-dominance? Multiple Alleles?

OpenStudy (blues):

It tells you that there are five different genes involved in what a single trait looks like. Right away, it's probably one of the last two options - polygenetic genes, or multiple alleles. Specifically, polygenetic traits are ones controlled by multiple different genes. Whereas with multiple alleles, it's one gene but there are many different possible variants of it. Hope that makes it clearer.
