@thomaster
@ranga please help! :)
I just need help with ONE question, which is #15 :)
Each of the three triangles, the two smaller inner triangles and the outer triangle are all similar to each other. You have to use that fact to find the lengths of SR and RP.
How do I do that?
I am not sure how to use that information.
Can you explain using this problem? :)
@RadEn ?
Find QP first applying Pythagoras theorem to triangle SQP.
i got 11.76^2+19.6^2=c^2
No, SP is the hypotenuse in triangle SQP.
SQ^2 + QP^2 = SP^2
oh ok, so then what? do i multiply the exponents?
Find QP first. QP^2 = SP^2 - SQ^2 QP^2 = 19.6^2 - 11.76^2 = ? QP = ?
how do i find QP? i am really confused.
If you find QP^2, you can take the square root to find QP.
what is QP^2
QP^2 = SP^2 - SQ^2 QP^2 = 19.6^2 - 11.76^2 = ?
what is 19.6+11.76?
You can use your calculator to find 19.6^2 - 11.76^2 square 19.6 and subtract square of 11.76
ok hold on...
4379.424
not correct.
that is what i got when i used my calculator
i do online school and this worksheet is going to expire in 45 seconds please help!!!
I myself don't have the answer. I have to go step by step with you and calculate as we go along. There are a few more calculations before we can find the answer and that cannot be done in that time.
ok maybe my teacher will give me a pass, but i need the answer for this one. i'm willing to do the work :)
QP^2 = 19.6^2 - 11.76^2 = 245.86 QP = square root of (245.86) = 15.68. From the link I posted earlier, using similar triangles we can say: RQ * QP = SQ^2 RQ = SQ^2 / QP = 11.76^2 / 15.68 = ?
i don't know what the squares would be, though
RQ = 8.82 In triangle SQR, RS^2 = RQ^2 + SQ^2 = 8.82^2 + 11.76^2 RS = 14.7 Perimeter = RS + SP + PQ + QR = 14.7 + 19.6 + 15.68 + 8.82 = ?
You just need to add the last 4 numbers in my previous reply to get the answer.
ok thanks!
i will tell you what i get so you can check it
It is 58.8.
yeah thats what i got! thanks!
you are welcome.
