You are given the coordinates of two pints, A and C. You are asked to find the coordinates of point B on line AC that is 2/5th the distance from point A to point C. To find point B, go 2/5th the x-distance along the x-axis and 2/5th the y-distance along the y-axis. A is (-8, 3) and C is (12, -4) x-distance is: 12 - (-8) = 20. 2/5th of 20 is 8. y-distance is: -4 - 3 = -7. 2/5th of -7 is -14/5. Add this to the coordinates of point A to find point B: (- 8 + 8, 3 - 14/5) = (0, 1/5)
