Just as a review, would y ou please type out the formula for the derivative with respect to x of y=a^x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathmale

OpenStudy (mathmale):

sorry for the slow response, but I'm helping several peole at once. would yo0u please look up the derivative of y=a^x? it's not y=ax^x-1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dy/dx = ln(a) y

OpenStudy (mathmale):

the way I remember it: Given y = a^x, the derivative is y' = a^x ln a. does that look at all familiar? We MUST agree on the correct derivative before moving on. Please double check your textbook, study notes or online notes.
