We need to find x. To start, let's solve the left side of the equation as it has no variables. \[(-12.7)*3.8*(-7.2)= 347.472 \] So now we have to figure out what value of x will make the equation balance. Let's solve the right side as far as we can. \[(3.8)*(-12.7)=-48.26\] What times -48.26 gives us 347.472? \[-7.2*-48.26=347.472\] An easier way to do this would be to compare the two sides visually. We see that both sides have a 3.8 and a -12.7. The right side is lacking the -7.2 that's on the left. Since there are no other numbers, this must be the balance. Your answer is B.
