I am doing a research paper, and I am stuck! Help?

My topic is the Montgomery Bus Boycott, and one of the required questions I need to answer with my research is, "Why is this event important for new American citizens?"

So far I think one reason is that this even shows that prejudices can be overcome through nonviolent acts?

It is mostly relevant and important to new citizens because when that boycott happened the Blacks of America were being oppressed and people from other nations not the USA and not fully white were scared for their safety. Some believed that when the whites were done with the Blacks they would move on to another nation and start to oppress them.
