Please help! Will fan and give medal! (picture in replies) Find the value of angle c. Explain/justify your steps. a = 2x +10 b = 3x + 20

OpenStudy (mw647):

OpenStudy (darkigloo):

do you know that two intersecting lines form opposite congruent angles?

OpenStudy (mw647):

@darkigloo would that mean that c = 2x-10?

OpenStudy (mw647):

I mean + not - sorry

OpenStudy (darkigloo):

yes. now that you have b and c, do you know how to solve for x?

OpenStudy (darkigloo):

c = 2x-10 isn't your answer. You have to solve for x and plug x into c. Since two lines are intersecting and B and C are adjacent angles, then B+C=180 degrees. So (3x+20)+(2x+10)=180

OpenStudy (darkigloo):

Now solve for x and then plug that into c=2x+10 to find out what c is.

OpenStudy (mw647):

@darkigloo Does c = 30 then?
