i need help with geometric series.. i keep putting questions, nobodys replied, can anyone help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What are the questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well basically everything on finding the sum for geometric series problems

OpenStudy (anonymous):

heres one...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The temperature in Corning last week went from 8 degrees to 5 to 2 and the pattern continued for the next few days until the temperature was -13. Is this an example of an arithmetic or geometric sequence? and using the formulas, what is the total number of degrees the temp has decreased?

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

This would be an arithmetic sequence. You observe a common difference of "3" between the terms. If it was a geometric sequence, you could divide adjacent terms and find a common ratio.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i need help witih finding the sum of anything i guess not just geometric

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could you helpwith that question?

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

Well the number of degrees it has decreased from 8 to -13, is 8 - (-13) = 21
