@Moyo30 - Your doubts can be better answered on the official website of Octave : https://www.gnu.org/software/octave/ You can contact or mail them if you come with some problems. Also, the software is related to Maths but still I will ask you to better prefer to search for these questions on Google and official websites of the respected software. They are considered to be more official! I am currently not sure whether it will be considered as off-topic or not! I will let you know if it is and then you can take care of it in future.

the software you are currently running is not a good one, the one you need is windows 7 home premium its better and a lot faster

after you get windows 7 go to the octave website and it should ask you if you want to download octave.
