Is the answer given a reasonable solution to the problem? 6.98 • 11.12 = 776.176 A. Yes B. No

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6.98 is about 7 11.12 is about 11 What is 7 times 11 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

77

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what does that tell me

OpenStudy (karategirl2002):

is b it =77.6176

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Really? You still don't get it? Your question says that the multiplication results in 776.176 Is that anywhere remotely close to 77 ?

OpenStudy (karategirl2002):

it already done bangkokgarrett

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's not done until the asker indicates she understands. It was unnecessary for you to give the answer like you did. The question does not want you to actually calculate it out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And do you understand why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no but i got it u were confusing so someone else helped me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Her way of doing it is not the way your teacher wanted you to do it. You are supposed to use your common sense to see if seven hundred and something is a reasonable answer to 6.9 something times 11.something

OpenStudy (karategirl2002):

she got 100% thats a a+ so just leve it

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

@karategirl2002 No, it's very unlikely that she really got it. I agree with @BangkokGarrett that the problem is intended to test estimation skills. Multiplying the exact numbers does not do so.
