Let f(x) = 5x + 12. Find f-1(x).

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\bf f(x)={\color{red}{ y}} = 5{\color{blue}{ x}} + 12\qquad inverse\implies {\color{blue}{ x}}= 5{\color{red}{ y}} + 12\) then solve for "y" notice that to find the inverse, that is \(\bf f^{-1}\) all we do is swap about the variables, and then solve for "y"
