Another absolute value question? Instead of just answering it, could you also explain? thanks. <3 |3d + 5| < 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\left| x-a \right|<b,-b<x-a<b\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

value of 3d+5 lies between -2 and 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the absolute is treated as the root of (the equation^2) so |3d + 5| is treated as {\[\sqrt{(3d + 5)^2}\]} so it has both a negative a positive value : \[\pm (3d + 5)\] so you should plug in both negative and positive values
