Given sin A = -.45 find angle A in degrees. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In order for you to be able to do this, you need to get A by itself. Is there a way to get A by itself and sin on the right side of the equal sign?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

oops - i had a brainstorm then!! the sine is negative in the 3rd and 4th segments so there are 2 solutions in the range 0 to 360 degrees

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

use your calculator - look up sin-1 0.45 - it will give you an agle in first quadrant ie between 0 and 90 degrees A will be 180 + x, or 360 - x

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

do you follow that ok?
