@satellite73 can you help me?

OpenStudy (shadyykatie):

@mathmale @whpalmer4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the first picture a square prim? o_0 or what is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its just a square with an triangle attached to it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let me try and help!

OpenStudy (shadyykatie):

i agree with @Justin_Bieber! and thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. that shape is a parallelogram. and the answer is D 14.04

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2. Is a triangle so... the answer is A 34

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hold on im tyring to find #3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im not sure for #3 but my guess is C 172

OpenStudy (nikato):

Agree with 1 and 2. For 3 Find area of rectangle so 9x13=117 Area of triangle is 1/2(11)(5)=27.5 Add them together 117+27.5=144.5 for the total area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OH ok .... i agree with @nikato

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

The first figure is a parallelogram. Area is given by \[A = b*h = 5.2*2.7 = 14.04\] The second figure is a triangle. Area is given by \[A = \frac{1}{2}b*h = \frac{1}{2}*17*4 = 34\] The third figure is a rectangle of dimensions 9x13 and a triangle of dimensions 11x(13-8)=11x5 \[A_{total} = A_{triangle} + A_{rectangle} = \frac{1}{2}11*5 + 9*13 = 27.5+117=144.5\] You should learn these area formulas like the back of your hand. You'll be using them often.

OpenStudy (optimusdell):
