compute the average rate of f(x) over the interval [-2,5]
Average rate of change?
Most likely. @chachrisss: What is the formula for "average rate of change of f(x) over the interval [a,b]?
yes but f(x) is not given
Cool, it's easier than you think then. Follow what Mathmale said. What's the 'formula' for average rate of change?
Average rate of change of function g(x) over the interval [a, b] is { g(b) - g(a) } / ( b - a ) Can you take it from here?
@chachrisss : are you positive that the function f(x) is not given? Do you have a and b? If so, what is a? what is b? Given a and b, write the value of the function at a. Then do the same thing for b.
@chachrisss : You'll need to decide whether you want to find the solution to this problem or just "look around," as OpenStudy says you are doing at the moment. if you want further help, please respond faster, OK? Thanks.
