I really don't understand how to do the diagram tree..

I started the diagram tree but when I tried to find P(E1 ∩ F) I kept getting it wrong. I multiplied (3/12)(2/3) and then divided by 2/3+1/7+1/2

yes, you're partially correct! the given numbers are already probabilities, so you need not divide by anything again

for part a), just do below : \(\large P(E_1\cap F) = \frac{3}{12}\times \frac{2}{3}\) \(\large P(E_2\cap F) = \frac{7}{12}\times \frac{1}{7}\) \(\large P(E_3\cap F) = \frac{2}{12}\times \frac{1}{2}\)
