If all the carnivores died out, what would happen the the ecosystem

This is a very broad question. lol. Umm well in the cases where there have been no predators to keep the population of plant eaters in check their numbers have exploded until the rate of plant growth can no longer sustain the plant eating animals. I speculate that this would happen on a grand scale if the entire planets carnivores died.
