WHY ?! (in vectors) \(\large (a×b)×c\neq a×(b×c)\)

OpenStudy (kainui):

Why do you think it should be true?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mm its ovs its not true , but geometrically how to show that ?

OpenStudy (kainui):

You need to show it geometrically? You could just calculate it out with general vectors: \[\bar a = <a_x,a_y,a_z>\]\[\bar b = <b_x,b_y,b_z>\]\[\bar c = <c_x,c_y,c_z>\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i can use a counter example , but i wanna it geometrically like need to know whats the meaning of it :)

OpenStudy (kainui):

What's a cross product? It's the area of a parallelogram formed by two vectors and has a direction perpendicular to them. |dw:1395917354825:dw|
