What is the range of the function y= -2x^2 + x

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

\(-2x^2+x=y\) is a downward opening parabola with a vertex at (1/4,1/8) so the range is all y<1/8

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

y<=1/8

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

I'm not quite sure what everyone else is talking about.

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

we dont need the domain @ranulp96 and f(x)<=x doesnt make any sense in this context. and NO not every real number is in the range @shamim . example f(x) is never equal to 50.

OpenStudy (kainui):

It's time for some people to go to bed I think lol.

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

Must be, I just don't see why anyone would answer if they obviously don't know the answer. I'm sure it just messes people up....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah:/ sorry I messed up here. And yes @zzr0ck3r is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

truly sorry
