Depends on what you want to network.  You can learn a lot about the basics of file sharing from some howtos.  If you are doing a larger network, you may need to learn a bit more.  There are larger and longer tutorials and documents out there that will help.  The place to start in either case is by deciding how large of a network you want to deal with and what it will need to do.
