I will medal and fan if you can help! One of the central themes in biology is how DNA, RNA, and proteins are related. Describe how genetic information is passed among those types of molecules. Include the results of the processes of transcription and translation. (Points : 5)
I'm assuming since this question was asked yesterday, you already completed the test and can not access it again. I'm only typing this for other students who may wonder upon this in the future and can try to put this into their own words: DNA passes on genetic information to RNA which is a process that involves transcription. The DNA must be copied into RNA because the DNA is not directly converted into proteins. After DNA is transcribed, the mRNA is then translated to produce a protein. http://biology.about.com/od/cellularprocesses/ss/Dna-Transcription.htm http://biology.about.com/od/cellularprocesses/ss/protein-synthesis-translation.htm
