How do you solve 3x^2 = 12x by factoring?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

=>3x^2-12x=0=>x(3x-12)=0=>x1=0; x2=4;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x^2 = 12x <------> 3x^2 -12x <-----> 3(x^2- 4) <-------> 3(x^2 -2^2) <-------> 3(x-2)(x+2). Hope this helps :)

sorry forgot to mention 3(x-2)(x+2) = 0. This indicates that x-2 = 0 or x + 2 = 0. The solutions are x =2 and x = -2
