Your friend has $80 when he goes to the fair. He spends $4 to enter the fair and $12 on food. Rides at the fair cost $1.25 per ride. Which function can be used to determine how much money he has left over after x rides? f(x) = 1.25x + 64 f(x) = -16x + $80 f(x) = -1.25x + 64 f(x) = -1.25x - 64

I think it would be A.

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

Please explain direct answers.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Agreed...I think its A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cause you're trying to figure out how much money he has for rides, therefore you would not subtract that cost without even knowing what it is so its not c or d. But then b makes no sense either.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where did the 16 even come from?

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

She was given $80 She spent a total of 16$ to enter the fair and buy food This left her with 64$ So each ride cost 1.25$ If she went on 5 rides an equation such as \[$-1.25 \times 5 = -5.25\] Then when you add -5.25 with 64 you get 58.75 So the answer is C

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Clarrisa the answer is C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh! It makes more sense with the explanation. The 16 came from what she spent it on total.
