I'll try to help, but I'm in the midst of working with another person right now.
Looks as though you need a control group: a group which does NOT take the new medication and a group that DOES take the new medication.
Describe what kind of sampling would be appropriate. (I'll be back.)

i was thinking either a control group without medication or one with a placebo medication. I think that stratified sampling would be appropriate
