Which statement about the Pacific Theater in World War II is true? A. Guadalcanal was chosen by American planners for invasion because of its pleasant climate and open terrain. B. At the Battle of Midway, Japanese planes sank four American aircraft carriers. C. After the Battle of the Coral Sea, Japanese forces invaded and captured Australia. D. Navajo Indians in the U.S. Marine Corps developed an unbreakable code using their native language.
I'd definitely go with (D). The Japanese never broke the Navajo code. All of the other answers are false. Guadalcanal wasn't chosen because it was a nice place, it was a strategic decision to take the island. It was the US that sank four Japanese carriers at Midway, and Australia wasn't invaded by the Japanese.
