Um, no. The Spanish-American War did not become a territory as a result of the Spanish American War. The Philippines, Guam and Puerto Rico became US territories after the SAW. The Philippines didn't want to trade Spanish rule for American Imperialism so they revolted and the US decided that Imperialism didn't really look good on a democracy.
